The Fathom ROV Tether (ROV-Ready) (Twisted Pairs - 4) (25 M 82 ft) is a professional-grade, neutrally buoyant tether designed for robust subsea applications, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). This tether combines exceptional strength and durability with superior electrical performance. It features a pre-installed Binder 77 connector and WetLink Penetrator, facilitating seamless integration with various ROV systems. The tethers slim profile, available in diameters of 4mm and 7.6mm, minimizes drag, making it ideal for deep, high-current, and long-distance dives.
The tether is constructed with water-blocking fibers to prevent leaks and includes Kevlar strands for added strength and Dacron fibers for space filling. The high-visibility yellow polyurethane foam jacket provides abrasion resistance and neutral buoyancy. The cables stiffness is optimized to offer flexibility for ROV maneuverability while preventing tangling. The tethers design ensures it is portable and easy to handle, with a hundred-meter length weighing just 3 lb (1.4 kg).
